Hi-Desert Medical Center is the primary provider of health services to a population of more than 68,000. A modern, nonprofit acute primary care hospital located in Joshua Tree, California. Hi-Desert Medical Center has more than 100 physicians in 28 medical specialties.

Hi Desert Medical Center Requirements: Provide a fully managed EHR Platform enabling data exchange between hospital, rural health facilities and local Primary Care Physician clinics.

Recognizing that Electronic Medical Record (EHR) technology adoption in the local community would drive the future success of many outpatient and standalone services, Hi Desert Medical Center (HDMC) realized it could be the conduit to provide financial and technology assistance to the local provider community and encourage a local electronic framework for improved continuity of care. HDMC needed unique expertise to integrate and support a community-wide infrastructure platform that would enable the secure exchange of data between primary care provider EHR systems and the Medical Center Meditech HIS.

L3 Networks provided HDMC with a complex fully managed Services Platform that provided dedicated private cloud environments for each medical organization. This solution enabled the secure and controlled data exchange paths between private clouds. L3 Networks had strategic partnerships with key EHR and HIS application suppliers, ensured a collaborative approach to project planning and implementation to achieve data exchange between systems. Iatric Systems Interfacing software suite enabled the translation of e-MDs EHR data into Meditech using HL7 format. All parties remain involved and maintain close working relationships to provide comprehensive support to HDMC.
